Winter Crafts

So I have been seeing this craft of DIY Anthro inspired snow globes on pinterest and I have been wanting to make them so bad! I received a mason jar with some candy in it as a gift from a coworker and I kept my eyes open for some small trees. Luckily, I found these ones at the DOLLAR STORE! seriously, I was soooo excited to find them! I wish I had bought more than one package cause when I went back to get some to make more, they were all out. :( I will be keeping my eyes open again ha
I took a bad angle of these trees because one is larger than the other but you cant tell in the picture ha woops! but anyways, this is what my trees look like. I used super glue to glue the smaller tree inside of lid of the mason jar I had.
After it dried, I mixed together sugar and powdered sugar, put it at the bottom of the mason jar, screwed the lid back on the jar with the tree in place, and then did a quick flip of the jar. The "snow" fell perfectly on the tree and the powdered sugar created a frosty affect on the jar :)
I didnt have any other mason jars so I tried to see if my extra spaghetti jars would work. They didnt. The taller tree I had wouldnt fit in the opening of the Spaghetti jar. SO, i ended up going over to the DI (Deseret Industries) to buy a bigger mason jar than the one I had used for the small tree.
I did the same thing with that jar as I did with the smaller one. They turned out sooo perfectly! Oh and beware, Your husband might be curious enough to want to shake your snow globe. HA My husband did and the powdered sugar covered the whole jar! I didnt glue my lid in place so I was able to take the lid off, wipe the sides of the jar with a napkin, and do a quick flip with the lid back on. I prefer to have clear glass with a little bit of frost. Not the whole thing frosted ha. So my globes are clearly just for decorative purposes haha not to be shaken :P
